He told everyone that he could, that I had in effect sold him a piece of junk for a lot of money and had cheated him. I tackled the neighbour about it but he denied the whole thing. Since then we have not spoken to each other at all and my poor wife is being ignored by his wife. So what I would say to everyone is, never ever sell to a neighbour or friend.
