The problem of cargo crime is not a new one. Ever since we started transporting goods across continents by road, these freight vehicles have been an attractive target for criminals. However, as the value of goods being stole increases, so too does the level of concern around the issue. In Europe alone, according to European Union statistics, cargo crime costs businesses on the continent around eight and a half billion Euros per year. That’s a phenomenally large cost. But just why are freight vehicles such an attractive target for criminals.
